Richard McGeown, Chef Patron of Couch's Great House Restaurant Polperro, and director of Apt Catering Ltd.

Richard honed his skills under Raymond Blanc (Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons) Gordon Ramsay (Restaurant Gordon Ramsay) and Marco Pierre White (The Oak Room).

 

In addition, currently holds the position of chair of judges for the National Trust Fine Farm Produce Awards.

 

Richard is the first Chef in history to have cooked, in-vitro meat in the world, at a cost of €264,000.

  Couch’s Great House Restaurant is situated in the quaint fishing village of Polperro Cornwall. Opened in 2004 in the heart of the village, under the direction of Richard McGeown (Executive Head Chef) who has drawn from his past experience of working with country’s most famous names.

  After honing his culinary skills under

Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Raymond Blanc, Couch’s has given a

platform for Richard to express himself.

 In order to create a relaxing & enjoyable environment  for all guests. The Restaurant, with the exception of assistance dogs, does not permit dogs or children under the age of seven.
